Stand with unions on Labor Day
Boston’s annual Labor Day parade will kick off at Copley Square on September 7 at 10am and then return to Copley with a celebration at 11:30. You can get more details and RSVP here.
You can also support working people by participating in two important boycotts:
Skip Starbucks - More than 700 Starbucks stores have voted to unionize. Thousands of baristas have organized, marched, rallied, and sat across the bargaining table, and Starbucks still won't agree to a fair contract. Stand with baristas: Sign the boycott pledge.
Shop smart, not Target - Target has continued to stay silent on ICE’s occupation of the Twin Cities, where it is a leading corporation. In response, the American Federation of Teachers and more than three dozen additional partner organizations urge families to spend our back-to-school dollars at unionized, local and small businesses that stand with workers, families and their communities. Find an alternative business to shop at using this new Shop Smart Not Target website.
If you’ll be on the Cape on Labor Day…
Progressive Cape groups are uniting on September 7 at four overpasses over Route 6 to send pro-democracy messages to travelers on their way home. Sign up to join them here or plan your own visibility with this handbook from the Visibility Brigade.
